A Letter From Tina
Women are rising at this time in history and it's time to do things a new way.
After working as an environmental and social justice attorney and advocate for several years, I burned out and felt like I was fighting all the time to no avail. I switched paths and got my masters in spiritual psychology and became a life coach, working with clients to transform their lives and create their dreams. I still hold the issues and causes I worked on dear in my heart but have wanted a different way of contributing to them. Women in the advocacy world are struggling (like I was) and really vulnerable to burning out, feeling exhausted and resentful, and going numb. It is super challenging each day to face the "other side" and sometimes we can feel completely disconnected with why we are doing what we're doing in the first place. I've totally been there and it's part of the reason why I left the that world when I did. I now realize that I can contribute to these causes by supporting the advocates -- women like you -- in taking care of themselves and getting back in touch with the joy and love they feel for their causes, so that they can be more sustainable and effective advocates. |
This is part of my life's purpose, to empower women in the advocacy world with the skills that I've learned in the coaching, personal growth, and spiritual world. I am also creating a powerful community of women advocates who support, learn and grow from each other. I'm calling it Women Advocates Rising.

About your Facilitator and Coach, Tina Meyers

After working as an environmental and social justice attorney and clean water advocate for several years, Tina was exhausted and felt like she was fighting to no avail, even when she won cases and received national awards. Knowing there must be something more, she switched paths and received her Master's degree in Spiritual Psychology and trained to become a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) with the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI). In working individually and with groups of women leaders and advocates, Tina has successfully combined her advocacy and conflict resolution background with her natural passion and fire to help those who help others. She founded Tina Meyers Intuitive Coaching in 2016 and Women Advocates Rising in 2018.
Tina now leads women leaders through one-on-one intensive coaching, workshops, conflict resolution and mastermind programs. Both individual and group work empower women leaders to create a life where they feel more balanced, inspired, joyful and effective at fighting for their cause. Tina’s coaching supports women to get in touch with the answers they already have within themselves and move past any challenges or doubts they might face.
Tina is also global faculty at CTI, where she leads transformational coach training courses. She was also a manager for four years in CTI’s organizational department, where she brought powerful coaching and leadership development into organizations. She loves hip hop dancing, is obsessed with personal growth, and lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with her two kitty babies, Hazel and Neka.

A note on Cultural Appropriation, Patriarchy and White Supremacy
I am very aware that several of the powerful coaching techniques and spiritual practices that I have learned over the years and share with my clients have a basis in cultural appropriation of indigenous populations. In fact, the entire coaching industry is currently whitewashed and was created in a patriarchal and white supremacist culture.
I encourage those of us that are white to continue to educate ourselves and do the inner and outer work necessary to clear white supremacy out of our cells and do things a new way. I highly recommend Layla Saad’s book Me and White Supremacy.
I will continue to donate a portion of proceeds from WARRIOR SCHOOL between two important organizations:
Coaching for Everyone (black-led organization that brings coach training, coaching and leadership development to under-resourced black, indigenous and people of color) and
Partnership with Native Americans (organization that serves over 60 reservations in twelve states in the Northern Plains and Southwest regions of the United States by addressing immediate/ material needs and long term solutions for indigenous populations).
I will continue to donate a portion of proceeds from WARRIOR GRAD SCHOOL to the following amazing organization:
Odanadi Foundation addresses all forms of sexual violence against women and children in India, with a special focus on human trafficking.
I will also continue to donate a portion of proceeds from the in-person WARRIOR GRAD RETREAT to an organization that honors the local indigenous population in the region/ land on which we gather for the retreat. For our 2023 in-person retreat for Grads which took place in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, that organization was: Native American Indian Association of Tennessee For our 2025 in-person retreat for Grads which took place in the Rocky Mountains of Boulder, Colorado, that organization was: Native American Rights Fund

"Thank YOU for creating this workshop and inviting me. It was eye opening and inspiring in many ways."
- Angela, Clean Water Advocate, Baltimore, MD "Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Ever since our workshop I have felt so much more connected to myself and things that I'm working on - whereas I had felt detached from work and my own wants, and just going through the motions before. And almost without even trying to, I find myself being much more kind/soft with myself the past two days. A very big thank you!! I am so glad I was able to participate in your workshop - it truly was eye-opening and heart-warming and such a pleasure to connect with such incredible women in this community." - Kristen, Government Advocate, Baltimore, MD "I feel that the experience was at first nerve-racking as I don’t usually put myself in situations where I open up so much. But, everyone was so kind and outgoing that I immediately felt more comfortable. No one was judging and I was able to dig deep into what I would like to work on and what will become a strength of mine. I feel confident having more tools to move forward in a positive way. It was wonderful to have open minded people to listen, encourage, and to bond with. We all need to take that time to ourselves to realize we are amazing. We are strong. We are here to support and encourage each other. " - Kate, Teacher & Education Advocate, Baltimore, MD |
